The real problem

Your team finds the product in SAGE, then rebuilds it for every company store.

The buyer wants a polished online company store. Your team already trusts SAGE for product research, but product records, images, options, pricing, and updates still have to be recreated elsewhere.

01

Manual catalog work delays the sale.

Account managers copy product details into spreadsheets, emails, and store platforms instead of moving the client program forward.

02

Store data becomes outdated.

Pricing, images, variants, and inventory can drift from the source data, creating more checking and more client questions.

03

Every larger catalog feels like a new build.

The distributor can win the opportunity, but scaling the assortment becomes expensive when the catalog has no defined data connection.

Your team should choose the right products, not rebuild their data.

The solution

Use SAGE for product intelligence. Use Shopify for the client experience.

Swishtag creates a controlled connection between approved SAGE product data and a branded Shopify company store. We define what data is used, how it maps into Shopify, what can update, and what remains managed by your team.

SAGE Connected Company Store

A custom Shopify commerce layer, not a replacement for SAGE.

Your team continues using SAGE for product research and sourcing. Shopify becomes the client-facing storefront, using only the authorized SAGE data and synchronization rules approved in the written scope.

01

Product data

Map approved product names, descriptions, images, categories, variants, supplier references, and other agreed fields into Shopify.

Build from selected products
02

Pricing and inventory

Configure the pricing and inventory data available through the distributor's SAGE access, then apply client-specific rules where required.

Scope depends on data access
03

Client merchandising

Control which products appear, how they are organized, what the buyer sees, and how the company store reflects the client's brand.

Keep the storefront focused

Why combine Shopify and SAGE

Give valuable client programs more room to grow.

A standard store may be enough for a straightforward program. Choose a SAGE Connected Shopify company store when the client needs stronger branding, custom merchandising, Shopify apps, or a future path into deeper commerce automation.

01

Launch broader catalogs faster

Start with approved SAGE products instead of manually creating every product record from zero.

02

Reduce duplicate data entry

Define reusable mapping rules for product fields, variants, images, and supplier information.

03

Protect the client experience

Keep the catalog controlled while presenting it through a storefront designed around the client's brand.

04

Create an upgrade path

Add order routing, accounting, PunchOut, approvals, or multi-store automation when the program becomes more complex.

Important: Available fields and synchronization frequency depend on SAGE licensing, SAGE Connect access, supplier data, and the approved scope. We verify these before development.

What changes for the distributor

Less catalog maintenance. More time for the account.

Respond faster to larger opportunities

Present a credible plan when the company store program needs more than a small, manually managed product assortment.

Keep product information more consistent

Use agreed SAGE data as the source for mapped fields instead of maintaining disconnected copies across multiple files.

Sell a better client experience

Give the buyer a branded Shopify storefront without forcing the distributor to abandon the SAGE workflow already used by the team.

A controlled data flow

From authorized SAGE access to a tested Shopify catalog.

We verify the available data before development, document the field map, test the rules, and launch only after the storefront and data flow are approved.

01

Confirm SAGE access

We review the distributor's SAGE account, available services, licensing, data fields, and technical prerequisites.

02

Define the catalog

We confirm the approved products, suppliers, buyer experience, pricing logic, and update requirements for the client program.

03

Approve the data map

We document how SAGE fields map into Shopify products, variants, collections, tags, metafields, and client-specific rules.

04

Build the storefront

We create the branded Shopify experience, import the controlled catalog, and configure checkout and fulfillment.

05

Test the data flow

We validate sample products, pricing, inventory behavior, edge cases, mobile ordering, and the agreed update process.

06

Launch and support

We train the team, launch the store, monitor the integration, and support the first 30 days.

Where the solution fits

Built for client programs that need more than a basic store template.

Choose this service when the account is valuable, the catalog is too dynamic for manual maintenance, or the client experience needs room for custom Shopify functionality.

Employee merchandise programs

Launch a controlled employee store using approved SAGE products, client branding, and defined pricing rules.

Franchise and dealer ordering

Give locations or dealers a consistent Shopify buying experience while maintaining approved supplier references.

Multi-supplier assortments

Organize products from selected suppliers inside one company store without rebuilding every product record manually.

Frequently changing catalogs

Define how agreed product, image, pricing, variant, or inventory fields update when source data changes.

Client-specific pricing programs

Apply approved pricing logic and merchandising rules around the client opportunity and buyer experience.

Programs preparing to scale

Start with one controlled store and preserve a path into order routing, accounting, PunchOut, approvals, or multi-store automation.

No surprise price increases after scope approval.

The implementation price stays fixed unless the approved requirements change. If a delivered item does not meet the signed acceptance checklist, Swishtag will correct it at no additional development charge.

Is this the right solution?

Choose it when the client opportunity has outgrown a standard store.

Choose SAGE Connected Company Store when...

  • Your distributor team already researches products in SAGE
  • The client wants a branded Shopify buying experience
  • The catalog is too large or dynamic for manual maintenance
  • You want selected SAGE data mapped into Shopify
  • One controlled store is the current priority
  • You need room to expand the program later

Choose a different solution when...

  • The store has a small fixed catalog that rarely changes
  • A standard SAGE Store already meets the client requirement
  • The client requires PunchOut procurement
  • Multiple stores need centralized operations
  • Orders need advanced supplier or PO automation
  • Complex ERP, accounting, approval, or budget workflows are required

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before the integration begins.

We verify the actual SAGE access, catalog requirements, and client workflow before recommending the build.

Is this the same as a SAGE Store?

No. A SAGE Connected Company Store is a custom Shopify storefront using authorized SAGE data services. A standard SAGE Store is usually the better choice when its native features fully meet the client requirement. Choose this service when the client specifically needs Shopify, stronger customization, or a broader integration roadmap.

Does this replace SAGE Workplace?

No. The distributor can continue using SAGE for product research and existing workflows. Shopify becomes the client-facing commerce layer, while the agreed SAGE data supports the storefront.

What SAGE data can be used?

The exact fields depend on the distributor's SAGE licensing, SAGE Connect access, available modules, supplier data, and the approved scope. Product details, images, categories, pricing, inventory, and supplier references may be used when available.

Can the entire SAGE catalog be added to Shopify?

The service is designed around a controlled catalog. Broad or full-database access depends on licensing, technical limits, search requirements, and Shopify architecture. We generally recommend starting with approved products that support the client program.

Will orders automatically move back into SAGE?

Not unless order submission or order synchronization is included in the written scope. The starting package focuses on the Shopify storefront and catalog data flow. Order, purchase order, accounting, and status integrations can be added separately.

How often will product data update?

The update frequency is defined during discovery and depends on available SAGE services, supplier data, catalog size, Shopify limits, and the operational importance of each field.

Can the store use POD, stocked inventory, or hybrid fulfillment?

Yes. The storefront can support print on demand, stocked inventory, or a hybrid model. The SAGE data connection and the fulfillment workflow are scoped separately so each one is clear.

What happens when supplier data is missing or inconsistent?

The integration can only use data available through the approved source. We identify missing fields during mapping and define whether the distributor will supply replacements, use defaults, or exclude the affected products.

Who needs to provide SAGE access?

The distributor must provide authorized access, credentials, documentation, and any required SAGE approvals or subscriptions. Swishtag does not bypass licensing or use data outside the distributor's permitted access.

Does the price include Shopify or SAGE fees?

No. Shopify subscriptions, SAGE subscriptions, SAGE Connect or API charges, paid applications, domains, transaction fees, product costs, and other third-party charges are separate unless explicitly included.

How long does the implementation take?

The timeline is confirmed after the access and data review. A controlled catalog is usually implemented in phases: discovery, mapping, storefront development, testing, and launch. Custom order or ERP integrations extend the schedule.
