What’s New in NOVEMBER 2022

Shopify Updates- 6th to 11th November

Shopify strives hard to provide maximum value addition in the lives of its customers, developers and merchants. Let us take a look at the recent November updates in the world of Shopify.

·        APPS POWERED BY DISCOUNT FUNCTIONS.

Developers can now have access to the backend logic of Shopify AppStore. They can now generate ads to promote their product by giving gifts on a purchase, or discount offers through proper means so the customers can configure them in the app.

Customers cannot access functions directly although shipping discount functions are still in a developer preview.

·        DEVELOPERS CAN NOW CATEGORIZE THEIR APPS

Shopify has made it easy for customers to find your app as you can categorize your apps in Shopify now through the app submission form in your partner dashboard. You can categorize by using two major tags that describe your app the best. Primary and secondary tags are available if you cannot describe your app using one tag properly.

Each category is divided into a sub-category and each sub-category has a tag so it’s hard for a customer to get lost by using the right information.

·        IMPROVED PERFORMANCE FOR THE SHIPPING APPS

Speed becomes a major factor if you want to get more sales while shopping online. If the customers cannot checkout within a given amount of time, they might change their mind. The average time for a page to load or a customer to checkout should be 2-5 seconds.

With the latest update, Shopify has introduced a faster checkout speed, which helps merchants to get as many sales as possible.

·        TAP TO PAY FROM YOUR IPHONE

As mentioned earlier speed is a major factor while getting more sales. Now as we strive towards speed and technology, paying from your iPhone has made it easier and more convenient for merchants to get sales in person.

The cost of hardware has been reduced; the time and effort for getting the payment have been reduced majorly through the update that has made both the customers and merchants satisfied.

That’s it for the Shopify roundup this week. Stay tuned to Swish Tag for more updates and happenings in the Shopify ecosystem.
